In March 2014 in Pasuruan an inflation of 0.05 percent in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) amounted to 112.38. CPI from 8 cities in East Java, recorded all cities experiencing inflation. The
highest inflation was in Malang by 0.43 percent, followed by Madiun by
0.25 percent 0.23 percent Surabaya, Banyuwangi 0.20 percent, 0.16
percent of Probolinggo City, Sumenep of 0.08 percent, Jember 0.03 percent, and 0.02 percent Kediri
Inflation
occurs because of the significant price increases in some expenditure
groups, as shown by the increase in the index some expenditure groups,
namely: health group by 0.86 percent, processed foods, beverages,
cigarettes, and tobacco by 0.73 percent; housing,
water, electricity, gas, and fuel by 0.24 percent, education,
recreation, and sports by 0.13 percent, clothing by 0.12 percent, while
the expenditures decreased price / deflation is a group of materials food by 0.55 percent, and in the transport, communications, and financial services by 0.13 percent.
The
top ten commodity price increases so as to provide the largest share of
the inflation in Pasuruan in March 2014 include: chili, rice with a
side dish, lubricants / oils, pecel, motorcycles, milk for toddlers,
soap, baby corn, milk powder and donuts.
While
ten commodity prices decline so as to provide the largest share of
deflation are: eggs, mobile phones, squid, sugar, bloating / bloated /
Banyar / Dioscorea bulbifera / aso-aso, cob / ambu-ambu, tomatoes, coconut, red chilli, and Red.
The
inflation rate in March 2014 calendar year amounted to 1.02 percent and
the inflation rate year-to-year period (March 2014 to March 2013)
amounted to 7.08 percent.
