Ø In February 2014 in Pasuruan deflation of 0.03 percent in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) amounted to 112.32. From 8 cities CPI that must exist in East Java, recorded all cities experiencing inflation. The
highest inflation was in Banyuwangi of 1.02 percent, followed by
Sumenep 0.76 percent, amounting to 0.60 percent Madiun, Malang of 0.31
percent, 0.23 percent of Surabaya City, Kediri and Jember each -masing by 0.05 percent, 0.02 percent of Probolinggo City

Of the seven groups expenditure, spending four groups experienced price
increases shown by the increase in the index of food, beverages,
cigarettes, and tobacco by 0.49 percent, followed by the health group by
0.11 percent, clothing 0.07 percent, and in the transport, communications, and financial services by 0.02 percent. While
expenditure groups decreased price / deflation, namely: housing, water,
electricity, gas, and fuel by 0.29 percent, followed by foodstuff by
0.24 percent, and education, recreation, and sport at 0, 06 percent.
Ø commodity price increases so as to provide the largest contribution
to inflation are: Tariff piped water, cayenne pepper, rice, noodles,
bananas, carrots, milk for infants, dried instant noodles, milk powder
and catfish.
Ø commodity prices decline so as to provide the largest share of
deflation are: onion, household fuel, eggs, tomatoes, coconut, chicken,
boiled cobs, sugar, tuna / ambu-ambu.

calendar year inflation rate of February 2014 at 0.97 percent and the
inflation rate year-to-year period (February 2014 to February 2013)
amounted to 7.78 percent.
