In September 2014 in Pasuruan an inflation of 0.04 percent in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) amounted to 114.49. From 8 cities CPI in East Java, all cities experiencing inflation. The
highest inflation was in Jember and Surabaya respectively by 0.41
percent, followed by 0.34 percent Kediri, Malang 0.26 percent, 0.25
percent Sumenep, Banyuwangi 0.11 percent, Madiun 0.07 percent and the lowest was in Probolinggo inflation of 0.04 percent.
Inflation
occurs because of the increase in the price indicated by the increase
in expenditure group indices, namely: food, beverages, cigarettes, and
tobacco by 1:09 per cent, followed by education, recreation, and sport
at 0:07 percent, housing, water, electricity, gas,
and fuel of 0.05 percent, health by 0.01 percent, while the group that
experienced deflation was foodstuffs of 0:59 per cent, followed by
clothing group by 0:13 percent. The group transport, communications, and financial services, no changes in price / index this month.
The top commodity price increases so as to provide the largest share
of the inflation in Pasuruan in September 2014, among others, noodles,
rice, tomatoes, red peppers, spiced, soup, tofu mix, potatoes, eggs, and
fish grilled / dazed.
Commodity prices decline to provide the largest share of deflation
are: chili, tuna / ambu-ambu, wet shrimp, beef, bloated / swollen /
Banyar, catfish, garlic, squid, chicken, and oranges.
