Abstract

Abstraction
  • Farmers Terms of Trade (NTP) is a comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib).
  • NTP is one indicator to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the exchange power (terms of trade) of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs.
  • The East Java Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) for February 2023 fell 0.04 percent from 106.41 to 106.37. The decrease in FTT was due to the price index received by farmers (It) which increased by 0.24 percent, which was lower than the price index paid by farmers (Ib), which increased by 0.28 percent. In February 2023, two agricultural sub-sectors experienced a decrease in NTP and three other sub-sectors experienced an increase in NTP. The sub-sector that experienced the largest decrease in FTT occurred in the Livestock sub-sector by 0.53 percent from 101.62 to 101.08, followed by the Horticulture sub-sector by 0.17 percent from 116.52 to 116.31.
