Jakarta
- The challenge in realizing the National Statistics System (SSN) in
the future will be greater and heavier. Many types of new data must be
collected by BPS as the official institution mandated by the Act. "SNPSI
(National Statistics Indonesia Development Strategy) not only belongs
to BPS, but belongs to the joint. This is to realize one Indonesian data
in the future," said Kecuk Suhariyanto when opening the National
Strategy of Development Statistics (NSDS) Kick Off Meeting at Grand
Mercure Kemayoran Hotel (24/9).
Dream
of an Indonesian data in the future along with the role of SNPSI which
is considered capable of developing a framework or framework for
building SSN long roads in Indonesia. Representatives of ministries /
institutions, provincial level information and statistics communication
services, and local governments were brought together with Paris21, a
statistical system design partner who had experience in several
countries.
"We
agree that we face challenging and growing fast era, thus we continue
to produce data without knowing the use of it. That mindset needs to
change. Ask ourselves, where the demand comes? Business demand?
Government? We need to be more specific and smart, "explained Gay
Tejada, as a member of Paris21 in his presentation about the institution
where he was sheltered.
In
the event a panel discussion was also held filled by M. Ari Nugraha
(Deputy of BPS Methodology and Statistical Information) and Taufik
Hanafi (Deputy Minister of National Development Planning / Bappenas for
Development Monitoring, Evaluation and Control). The moderator was
Yunita Rusanti, Deputy of BPS Distribution and Services.
This
workshop is expected to produce a roadmap as well as a legal umbrella
as an effort to strengthen the role of statistics in development.
