Abstract

In June 2024, year on year (y-on-y) inflation in East Java Province will be 2.21 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.37. The highest inflation of 3.24 percent occurred in Sumenep with a CPI of 108.48 and the lowest inflation occurred in Kediri City at 1.72 percent with a CPI of 105.67. Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 3.96 percent; clothing and footwear group by 1.69 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.45 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 0.99 percent; health group by 2.02 percent; transportation group by 1.65 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 1.01 percent; education group at 1.39 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 2.04 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 5.29 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decline in the index were: information, communication and financial services groups by 0.42 percent. The month to month (m-to-m) deflation rate for East Java province in June 2024 is 0.37 percent. The year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate for East Java Province in June 2024 is 0.81 percent.
