Abstract

  • Fisherman's Exchange Rate (NTN) is a comparison of the price index received by fishermen (It) to the price index paid by fishermen (Ib).
  • NTN is an indicator to see the level of fishermen's ability/purchasing power. NTN also shows the exchangeability (terms of trade) of captured fishery products for goods and services consumed and for production costs.
  • The East Java Fisherman's Exchange Rate (NTN) in August 2023 fell 0.17 percent from 101.88 in July 2023 to 101.70 in August 2023. The development of the NTN in August 2023 against December 2022 (calendar year) fell by 0, 78 percent. Meanwhile, the development of NTN in August 2023 compared to August 2022 (year on year) decreased by 2.78 percent.
  • Of the six provinces on the island of Java that carried out NTN calculations in August 2023, five provinces experienced an increase in NTN, and one province experienced a decrease in NTN. DI Yogyakarta Province was the province that experienced the highest increase in NTN, namely 2.40 percent, followed by West Java Province which rose 1.31 percent, DKI Jakarta Province which rose 0.84 percent, Banten Province which rose 0.47 percent and Central Java Province which rose 0.84 percent. 0.08 percent. Meanwhile, East Java Province was the only province that experienced a decrease in NTN, namely 0.17 percent.
  • In August 2023 the Household Consumption Index (IKRT) in East Java fell by 0.06 percent, while the Production Cost and Additional Capital Goods Index (BPPBM) increased by 0.01 percent
