Abstract

Fisherman's Exchange Rate (NTN) is the ratio of the price index received by fishermen (It) to the index of price paid by fishermen (Ib).

NTN is one indicator to see the level of ability/purchasing power of fishermen. NTN also shows the terms of trade of capture fishery products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs.

The Fishermen's Exchange Rate (NTN) in East Java in October 2022 rose 0.37 percent from 102.45 in September 2022 to 102.83 in October 2022. The development of NTN in October 2022 against December 2021 (calendar year) increased by 0.21 percent. The development of NTN in October 2022 against October 2021 (year on year) decreased by 1.42 percent.

Of the six provinces in Java that calculated NTN in October 2022, four provinces experienced an increase in NTN, and two provinces experienced a decrease in NTN. West Java Province increased by 2.00 percent, DI Yogyakarta Province rose 1.78 percent, East Java Province increased 0.37 percent, and DKI Jakarta Province rose 0.14 percent. The ones that experienced a decrease in NTN were Banten Province, which fell by 0.23 percent, and Central Java Province, which fell by 1.48 percent.

In October 2022 the Household Consumption Index (IKRT) in East Java fell by 0.34 percent, while the Production Cost and Capital Goods Addition Index (BPPBM) rose 0.40 percent.
