an appreciation of BPS to the whole community in developing the status
of Indonesia, as in previous years, BPS again gave BPS Awards. There are
three award categories: Best Company Respondents, Best Mass Media
Partners, and Best Ministry / Institution Partners.
As
the Best Company Respondent, the Indonesian Automotive Industry
Association (GAIKINDO) was chosen. "This will spur us to provide better
data. We feel the importance of the data, so we continue to spur so that
the data we produce is useful for many people, "said Kukuh Kumara,
General Secretary of GAIKINDO.
Then,
from the mass media, Investor Daily was awarded as the Best Mass Media
Partner received by Primus Dorimulu, Editor in Chief. "Editorial policy
in Investor Daily, every reporter must master the data. And the most
trusted data is BPS data. With Presidential Regulation Number 39 Year
2019, we hope for one data, "he said.
As
a final award, the Ministry of National Development Planning / Bappenas
was awarded as the Best Ministry / Institution Partner. "I hope this
award is given because of the passion for one data. It is time for us to
work well together as part of producing quality data. For SP2020, we
hope that synchronization with the Ministry of Home Affairs will run
smoothly. We always support BPS, so that SP2020 becomes the best census
made so far, and becomes an international standard, "said Bambang
Brodjonegoro, Minister of PPN / Head of Bappenas.
Furthermore,
Bambang also advised BPS about the increasingly widespread use of Big
Data. "We have entered this era, like it or not, BPS must not be
allergic to big data. We must try to make big data into mainstream
statistics. "With the spirit of one data, hopefully the cooperation
between Bappenas and BPS will be deeper," he concluded.
