Jakarta
- Statistics Indonesia is being recognized for an award for the
building of Wilkerstat with geospatial technology. The statement from
OpenGov gave an award to BPS, especially for the Wilkerstat application
(statistical work area, red) used for mapping.
This
award was given at the "Indonesia OpenGov Leadership Forum 2019" event
held at JW Marriot, Kuningan, Jakarta, (18/7). The award was given by
Mohit Sagar, Editor in Chief of OpenGov and was received by the Deputy
of BPS Statistics and Methodology, M. Ari Nugraha who at that time came
with the Subdirectorate Team for the Development of BPS Statistics
Mapping. In addition to BPS, awards were also obtained by several
regional governments, ministries, and commercial banks.
This
award, according to OpenGov, was given because of innovation and
disruptive use of geospatial technology carried out by BPS in public
services that are increasingly fast, smart, efficient and transparent.
The Wilkerstat application is used to update the shape and position of
the digital map of the statistical work area used as an indicator of the
data collection area (census and survey) conducted by BPS in the year
2020-2030.
OpenGov
itself is a movement with information, communication and technology
platform content that encourages an open and participatory government to
realize innovative solutions for the community.
