As
the top event in the 2019 National Statistics Day Commemoration series,
BPS held a National Statistics Day Talkshow entitled "Towards Advanced
Indonesia with Quality Human Resources and Data" which was held in
conjunction with the Population Census Publicity Kick Off Event 2020,
(9/26).
By
taking the concept of East Kalimantan culture, the 10th floor of BPS
Hall was transformed with Dayak-style nuance along with population data
infographics of each province in each window. "BPS as reminds us again,
if our capital city wants to move to East Kalimantan, we expect the
quality of our human resources to be ready," said Brigita Manohara,
moderator of the talkshow.
Before
the talkshow, the SP2020 Publicity Kick Off was carried out marked by
the blowing of chopsticks (a typical Dayak inflatable weapon) from the
Head of BPS, Kec. Suhariyanto. This marks starting from the moment of
the 2019 National Statistics Day, the socialization of SP2020 will be
massive throughout Indonesia. "We are principled by a population census
that we share, and every soul counts," according to Kecuk.
The
talk show was opened by the explanation from BPS Deputy for Social
Statistics, Margo Yuwono. "What is being done to achieve superior HR?
Human development from an early age, so that the absorption of the world
of work becomes good, as well as preparing human resources towards the
active and independent elderly, "he said. In addition to Margo, the talk
show also featured an economist, Faisal Basri; D Deputy for
Coordination of Community, Village and Regional Empowerment, Sonny Harry
Harmadi; and public figure, Tasya Kamila.
"If
we talk about Indonesian human resources, our education is lacking in
critical thinking, we are used to dictation. I want that someday young
people can be included in the ministries / institutions to also
participate in policy making, "Tasya hoped. For this reason, it is very
important for young people to be literate in data. And this data
literacy is also applied by Sonny in the ranks of his ministry. "To make
decisions that will be taken by the minister or president, it must be
based on data. That's what I try to invite friends in the ministry to be
literate with data, making data as material for decision makers.
Critical may, but based on data, "he said.
