Abstract

The total workforce in August 2024 was 121.46 thousand people, a decrease of 2.82 thousand people compared to August 2023. This caused a decrease in the August 2024 Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) by 2.93 percentage points compared to the August 2023 TPAK.
The working population is 115.84 thousand people, a decrease of 1.42 thousand people compared to August 2023. The Manufacturing Industry sector is the only sector that has experienced an increase in the number of working people, namely 1,112 people. Meanwhile, the Services Sector and Agricultural Sector experienced a decline of 1,830 and 704 people respectively.
The number of workers in the informal sector in August 2024 was 52.61 thousand people, an increase of 1.85 percentage points compared to August 2023. Meanwhile, the number of formal sector workers decreased by 1.37 percentage points compared to August 2023.
The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in August 2024 was 4.63 percent, down 1.01 percentage points compared to August 2023.
