Abstract

The Fishermen's Exchange Rate (NTN) is a comparison of the price index received by fishermen (It) to the price index paid by fishermen (Ib).
NTN is one indicator to see the level of ability/purchasing power of fishermen. NTN also shows the terms of trade of capture fisheries products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs.
The East Java Fishermen's Exchange Rate (NTN) for February 2023 rose 1.01 percent from 100.61 in January 2023 to 101.63 in February 2023. The development of the NTN for February 2023 against December 2022 (calendar year) fell by 0. 86 percent. The development of NTN in February 2023 compared to February 2022 (year on year) fell by 3.17 percent.
Of the six provinces on Java Island that carried out NTN calculations in February 2023, four provinces experienced an increase in NTN, and two provinces experienced a decrease in NTN. DI Yogyakarta Province experienced an increase of 2.21 percent, West Java Province increased 1.27 percent, East Java Province increased 1.01 percent, and DKI Jakarta Province increased 0.09 percent. Those that experienced a decrease in NTN were Central Java Province which decreased by 0.37 percent, and Banten Province which experienced a decrease of 0.70 percent.
In January 2023 the Household Consumption Index (IKRT) in East Java rose by 0.50 percent, as did the Production Cost Index and Additional Capital Goods (BPPBM) which increased by 0.04 percent.
