Abstract

  • The percentage of poor people in March 2022 was 10.38 percent, decreased by 0.21 percentage points against September 2021 and decreased by 1.02 percentage points against March 2021.
  • The number of poor people in March 2021 was 4.181 million people, decreased by 0.078 million people against September 2021 and decreased by 0.392 million people against March 2021.
  • The percentage of the urban poor in September 2021 was 7.99 percent, down to 7.71 percent in March 2022. Meanwhile, the percentage of the rural poor in September 2021 was 13.79 percent, down to 13.69 percent in March 2022.
  • Compared to September 2021, the number of urban poor in March 2022 decreased by 47.5 thousand people (from 1.768 million people in September 2021 to 1.721 million people in March 2022). Meanwhile, in the same period the number of rural poor people fell by 30.9 thousand people (from 2,490 million people in September 2021 to 2,459 million people in March 2022).
  • The Poverty Line in March 2022 was recorded at Rp.460,909/capita/month with the composition of the Food Poverty Line of Rp.348,399 (75.59 percent) and the Non-Food Poverty Line of Rp.112,510,- (24.41 percent) .
  • In March 2022, the average poor household in East Java had 4.34 household members. Thus, the size of the Poverty Line per poor household on average is Rp. 2.000.345,-/poor household/month.
