Abstract

The number of the workforce in August 2021 was 111,954 people, an increase of 3,443 people (3.17 percent) compared to August 2020. This increase was also followed by an increase in the August 2021 Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) of 1.61 percentage points compared to the August 2020 TPAK.
  • The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in August 2021 was 6.23 percent, a decrease of 0.1 percentage point compared to August 2020, which means that out of 100 people in the labor force in Pasuruan, 6 of them are unemployed.
  • The working population was 104,977 people, an increase of 1,142 people from August 2020. Employment fields that experienced the largest percentage increase were the Manufacturing/Processing Industry Sector (0.47 percent point) and the Services Sector (0.23 percent point). Meanwhile, the sector that experienced a decline was the Agriculture Sector (0.70 percentage point).
  • A total of 58,885 people (56.09 percent) work in formal activities, down 0.51 percentage point compared to August 2020
  • There are 26,535 people (16.98 percent of the working age population) affected by COVID-19. Consisting of unemployment due to COVID-19 (2,126 people), Non-Work Force (BAK) due to COVID-19 (754 people), temporarily not working due to COVID-19 (1,616 people), and working residents who experienced a reduction in working hours due to COVID-19 19 (22,039 people).
